Savuti is a diverse and dynamic ecosystem located within the Chobe National Park in Botswana. It is situated in the Savuti Channel, which is a dry riverbed that is fed by the Savuti Marsh, a large seasonal wetland that supports a rich diversity of plant and animal life. The Savuti ecosystem is part of the greater Chobe National Park and covers an area of approximately 5,000 square kilometers.
The ecosystem is characterized by its arid and semi-arid environment, with a mixture of grasslands, savannah, and woodland habitats.
One of the unique features of the Savuti ecosystem is the Savuti Channel, which flows and dries up at irregular intervals. The channel is fed by the Savuti Marsh, which fills up during the rainy season and attracts a plethora of birds and other animals. When the rainy season ends, the marsh dries up, and the channel becomes a series of waterholes that are critical for the survival of many animals during the dry season.

The Dry Season: May to October
Game viewing is excellent throughout the year but the dry winter season is the best time to visit Savuti for the most comfortable experience
The Wet Season: November to March
The rainy season. Great for bird watching and seeing the zebra migration in Savuti. The impala give birth during this time, so the predators are very active, too.
