Savuti Day Trip Overview
Savuti is a wildlife-rich region located in the southern part of Chobe National Park in Botswana. A day trip to Savuti is a great way to experience the park’s diverse wildlife and breathtaking scenery.
The day trip usually starts early in the morning with a pickup from your accommodation. You will then embark on a game drive in an open 4×4 safari vehicle, accompanied by an experienced guide who will share their knowledge about the local flora and fauna.
As you drive through the savannah grasslands and acacia woodlands, keep your eyes peeled for the park’s famous elephant herds, as well as lions, leopards, cheetahs, hyenas, wild dogs, giraffes, zebras, and many other species. You may also spot a variety of birdlife, including the majestic African fish eagle and the colorful lilac-breasted roller.
At midday, you’ll take a break for a picnic lunch at a scenic spot, followed by some leisure time to relax and enjoy the view.
After lunch, you’ll continue your game drive and explore the region’s famous Savuti Marsh, a seasonal wetland that attracts large herds of grazers such as buffalo, wildebeest, and zebras, as well as predators such as lions and hyenas.
As the day comes to an end, you’ll head back to your accommodation, feeling exhilarated and amazed by the incredible wildlife and natural beauty of Savuti.
